In a June 8 as of today but 60 years ago, the first Porsche prototype marked with the model numbers 356-001, received official approval and the approval for use on the road from the local government of Carinthia, Austria. The Porsche "001" used a tubular frame covered with aluminum panels and a central rear engine of 1,100 cc which handed between 35 and 40 horses. 60 Years of Sport Porsche
