Ferrari 430

The Ferrari 430 is the model that replaced the 360 Modena in 2005. As the 360, Ferrari 430 has an aluminum chassis and an engine from eight cylinders in V at 90 °, placed in rear longitudinal central position.

It measures 4,512 mm long and 1,923 wide and 1,214 high, is somewhat longer, and almost equal to the width and height 360. The battle (2,600 mm) and tracks (1,669 and 1,616 mm) coincide almost exactly with those of 360.

As the 360 (and 355, which preceded both) has a flat bottom, is distinguished from both by a cumbersome rear diffuser . This element, which also had the 360 but smaller, serves to accelerate the passage of air under the car when moving at high speed.

The main difference with the engine 3.6 l of 360 is that it is 4,308 cm ³ (hence the name). The actions of the new engine are 92 x 81 mm; career is proportionally shorter than the driving force of 360.

The compression ratio of this new engine is still higher than the previous one (11.3 to 1, instead of 11, 0). Partly because of that, reaches a maximum torque of 465 Nm, which is an extremely high figure for a naturally aspirated engine of its engine capacity (108 Nm / litre, before 104). It gives the maximum torque at 5,250 rpm.

It also increases the specific power in relation to the 360 engine: 114 hp / l against 112. The regime of maximum power is 8,500 rpm, the same as before.

Ferrari said a top speed of 315 km / h and an acceleration of 0 to 100 mph, 4 sy an average consumption of 18.3 l per 100 km. The weight requirements for approval is 1,525 kg, therefore the relationship between weight and power is 3.11 kg / hp.

The Ferrari 430 is, therefore, slightly faster at maximum speed and acceleration than a Lamborghini Gallardo (309 km / h s 4.2 of 0 to 100 kph).

As the Ferrari 430, the Gallardo is made of aluminium, but has a ten-cylinder engine instead of eight, and total traction rear instead, a Gallardo weighs 1,605 kg in requirements for approval.

The gearbox of Ferrari 430 six-speed automatic (type F1), and can be operated manually controls on the steering wheel. It has a rear differential lock system with an electronically controlled (known as' E DIFF).
