Fiat confirms the launch of the 500 Cabrio
Although for many it was something safe, finally is official that the Fiat 500 will be convertible variant but despite what they thought, would not be the typical cabrio but a vehicle to the targa style without changing the uprights.
As reported by the Fiat 500 Cabrio will have a canopy of fabric that can glide across the ceiling to cover the lunette later. The closest thing we need now in the market is the Citroen C3 Pluriel, although in this case amounts may be withdrawn, something that did not happen in Italian.
We do not have dates of arrival, much less the mechanics available. Prior will have to be ready for the Abarth across Europe and the production of conventional standard.

The launch of the Fiat 500 is designed to be an event not only for the Italian manufacturer, but for European industry in general. Until now we knew little mouse in the new city was to be launched next year, but had no confirmation of his version cabriolet (roof of canvas), a model that we know that there is not much that Fiat wants to confirm at the moment.
As can be expected to be a Fiat 500, their engines will be economic, and very small savers. Launch will be offered with 1.1 blocks and 1.2 four-cylinder with a 1.3 Multijet. Later we will see two versions Abarth 1.4 petrol and 1.6 diesel, which despeinar without anyone in their path used to walk with something more than joy. The customization options are still unknown, although it appears that consumers have a range to set a Fiat 500 completely to his liking.
Magna will be responsible for conducting the roof of the Fiat 500 Cabrio
Finally was the Austrian Magna which will develop the retractable roof of the little Fiat 500 in its convertible version. The new model in any case will not be a conventional cabrio, but will have a roof of canvas grand opening, the style of Citroen Pluriel but when you use the arches folding roof.
It is not the first time that Magna and Fiat as partners for development of Bravo and both companies worked together. The production of the canvas roof will be made in the Millennium Logistic Park, near the facilities of Fiat in Tychy, Poland.
At the moment we do not know when it will be on sale the new version, much less the final price and engines but we bet to be around € 2,000 more expensive and may have the same engine to 100 hp (at the moment there are no rumors of a cabrio version of the Abarth, although it could come).

Spy Photos: Fiat 500 Cabrio
It was a matter of time that came to light the first spy pictures of the new bodywork of the Fiat 500, the cabrio. We do not have clear when it will make the formal presentation, but what we have already confirmed some time is that it will not be a conventional cabriolet.
Equipped with a canvas roof with power-operated, the Fiat 500 Cabrio will only be able to deploy the central area of the roof, leaving the side frames fixed. It is a solution similar to that employed in the Citroen C3 Pluriel uncloak only when the roof, while the French model has the option to remove the lateral frameworks, something that did not happen in the Fiat.
As for the mechanics will be available so far as known, ie a 69-hp 1.2i, 1.4i 16v 100 bhp and a 1.3 JTD 75 hp. It is also likely to reach new two-cylinder 0.9i version of the roof open, but for now there is nothing official.
